WPL is accepting applications for Library Director

December 22, 2017 by Tricia Cox

The Waterford Public Library Board is seeking a dynamic, energetic and creative person with strong dedication to customer service to become our Library Director. We are looking for an innovative and enterprising individual to continue moving our library into the future. The Waterford Public Library is the cornerstone of a community of 6,000 residents, however the library supports a service population of over 22,000. Our Director should provide quality leadership, direct and support staff, work with Friends of the Library, collaborate with local organizations and agencies, and bring new ideas to support the library and its programs. Initiatives anticipated for 2018 include implementing an Automated Materials Handling system and developing a ‘mobile library’ to service our patrons during upcoming road construction.

Qualifications include: Master’s in Library Science (ALA accredited), ability to obtain Grade 1 Public Librarian Certification, as well as supervisory & managerial experience. Grant writing experience a plus. The starting salary is up to $58,000. Benefits include: paid sick leave, paid holidays, personal time, paid vacation, deferred compensation options, Wisconsin Retirement System, health insurance, dental insurance, life and disability insurance, flexible spending options and an employee assistance program.

To apply, email a cover letter, resume and three letters of recommendation to Don Bray at dbray6714@yahoo.com. In addition, submit a Village of Waterford online employment application at www.waterfordwi.org/employment. All required information is due by end of business Friday, January 19, 2018.
